Adult Individual Counseling
At times, do you feel alone and stressed, wondering if this is normal or if there is something 'wrong' with you? Perhaps you have tried talking with other therapists in the past but it just didn't seem to help.

adult couples counseling
Do you long for meaningful connections or to build a better relationship with someone with whom you can share your joys and struggles? Humans are hard wired to live in relationship, and the need for love and belonging is essential for our well being. However, relationships are complex and challenging, and require careful nurturing to remain healthy. This is where counseling and therapy can help build the strong and thriving partnerships that we all need.
Couples work can be short-term and focused upon a specific issue, or long-term and focused on several issues within a relationship. I utilize an emotion focused therapy approach, and treat the 'relationship' as the primary client.
Some of the issues I treat include:
Commitment issues
Premarital counseling
Infidelity
Financial conflict or stressors
Difficulty coping with a partner's physical or mental health illness
Life transitions
Grief
Trauma
Trust or forgiveness issues
Troubled communication (frequent conflict or arguments)
Physical and emotional abuse
Adolescent individual counseling
Adolescence is a challenging time, when the issues that later plague us as adults can begin to surface. Facing those problems early helps build the foundation for a healthy life, giving young adults the tools they need to maturely enter adulthood.
When working with adolescents and young adults I utilize traditional talk therapy, as well as incorporate therapeutic games, role playing or other creative therapies. Each treatment plan is tailored to the needs of the particular young person seeking treatment.
Some of the mental health problems children and adolescents seek treatment for fall into the following categories:
Anxiety disorders (including social and school anxiety)
Bi-Polar disorder
Bullying
Depression (including general sadness and major depression)
Dealing with divorce
Eating disorders
Personality/temperament exploration
Relationship help
Self-harm/self-injury
Sexual abuse or assault
Sexuality
Spirituality (including Christian Counseling)
Stress Management
Suicidal thoughts & behaviors*
Trauma
